Understanding The Math
mg vs. mcg Conversion

1 milligram (mg) = 1,000 micrograms (mcg). A 500mcg dose is exactly 0.5mg.

The U-100 Syringe

On a standard U-100 insulin syringe, 100 Units = 1 ml. A "Unit" is a tick mark on the barrel used to measure liquid volume.

Real-World Example

You have a 10mg vial and add 2ml of water.

  • Total Peptide: 10mg = 10,000mcg
  • Total Liquid: 2ml = 200 Units
  • Concentration: 10,000mcg ÷ 200 Units = 50mcg per Unit

For a 250mcg dose: 250 ÷ 50 = 5 Units on the syringe.

Storage & Reconstitution Rules
1. Proper Storage

Lyophilized (Powder): Keep away from light. Store at room temp short-term, fridge for months, or freezer (-20°C) for years.

Reconstituted (Liquid): Must be refrigerated (2°C–8°C) immediately. Potent for 21–28 days.

2. Reconstitution Process

Aim the needle at the glass wall so water drips down gently. Never shoot directly into the powder. Roll gently between fingers to dissolve.

3. Required Supplies
  • Bacteriostatic Water: 0.9% benzyl alcohol prevents bacterial growth.
  • U-100 Insulin Syringes: 31G, 5/16" (8mm) for Sub-Q injection.
  • Alcohol Prep Pads: For vial stoppers and injection site.
Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Sterile Water instead of BAC?

Sterile water has no preservatives. Use immediately (single-use). BAC water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol for multi-use storage up to 28 days.

What if I add more water to the vial?

It dilutes the concentration. You'll draw a larger volume (more units) to get the same dose. Sometimes this makes small doses easier to measure.

Where is the best place to inject?

Sub-Q injections go into the fat layer. Common areas: lower abdomen (away from belly button), outer thighs, or back of arms. Rotate sites.
